Simply put, Brent Gordon Jr was all over the field for the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on Saturday night.
In a 34-7 win over Charlotte, Gordon Jr made a massive impact from his cornerback position.
He totaled seven tackles, one and a half tackles for loss, an interception, two forced fumbles, and a fumble recovery. He also contributed a long punt return that set up the Louisiana offense with a short field and allowed them to score a touchdown.
The Cajuns’ defense as a whole was dominant, allowing just 137 yards of offense. That marks the fewest yards allowed by a UL team since a 2001 contest against Nicholls.
Gordon Jr is the second consecutive Cajun to win SBC Defensive POTW, after safety Collin Jacob won the award last week.
Louisiana is at Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium for Homecoming on Saturday. The game, which comes against Arkansas State at 7:00 PM, will also mark the SBC opener for both squads.
